Each Uroxatral extended release pills comprise of 10 mg of alfuzosin hydrochloride as the chief ingredient. Alfuzosin is a white to off white crystalline powder and melts roughly at 240 degree Celsius. Alfuzosin hydrochloride is easily soluble in water and sparingly dissolves in alcohol.

Uroxatral tablets also comprise of the inactive ingredients like ethyl cellulose, hydrogenated castor oil, magnesium, stearate, colloidal silicon dioxide, povidone and yellow ferric oxide.

Medical Uses

Uroxatral is prescribed for men to treat the symptoms of enlarged prostate. The pill works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck making it comfortable and easier to urinate. The drug is primarily used for the purpose of improving urination in men who have benign prostatic hyperplasia otherwise called as an enlarged prostate.
