Imovane is a drug that is used for treating insomnia. It is also used for treating other mental conditions like depression and others. It is a short term sleep medicine which should not be used for more than one week.
Imovane is available for use as orally administered tablets in the dosage strengths of 3.75 mg, 5 mg, and 7.5 mg. Follow the precise dosage information in order to avoid any unwarranted health complications like increased side effects and drug dependence. A single dose is to be taken just before going to bed as the powerful drug has a fast onset of action time.
The Zopiclone medication is not recommended for use for more than seven to ten consecutive days and is indicated only for short-term use. Patients prescribed to take Imovane drug should take a single dose only when his or her schedule allows for seven to eight hours of continuous sleep.
The drug should be gradually withdrawn without stopping abruptly as severe withdrawal symptoms can occur. Patients with a history of drug or alcohol abuse, and have suicidal thoughts should be monitored closely throughout the time of treatment with this drug.
It causes short term memory loss for the time frame between consumption of medicine and the effect being worn off. Mostly people fall asleep, during this time frame. Pregnant women and breast feeding mothers should not consume Imovane. Children less than 18 should not use this drug and older people will have severe side effects.
Do not modify the dosage by increasing it or taking more than required without consulting with the physician. It is recommended to avoid drinking alcohol or taking any form of CNS depressants while on this medication. It is also advisable to avoid driving or operating any dangerous machinery till any lingering drowsiness has worn off and the patient has become full alert.
If there are any unusually strange thoughts or behavior then it should consulted with the doctor immediately. Avoid developing drug dependence and withdrawal by following the healthcare provider’s recommendations regarding gradually reducing the dosage before stopping the drug therapy.

Imovane is contraindicated for use in persons allergic to Zopiclone. Those with existing health conditions like liver disease, respiratory illnesses, myasthenia gravis, kidney problems, any mental health problems, and a history of alcohol or drug abuse should inform the doctor before getting prescribed to take this drug. Also disclose any other drugs being taken to avoid any harmful adverse reactions.
