Product Description

Flovent is a medication mostly prescribed for the treatment of asthma. It is works by preventing certain substance in the body to release compounds that cause inflammation.

Many brand-name companies have made their own formulations by having fluticasone propionate as their active ingredient. This ingredient comes under the class of corticosteroids hence flovent is most often referred to as a steroid. It is a prescription medication so in order to obtain the medication, you must get it prescribed.

Medical Uses

Flovent is used to alleviate the symptoms of asthma that occur in asthma patients time and again. The medicine is not used to cure asthma but it is only used to reduce the incidences or occurrence of the attack. So the medicine will not be useful during an asthma attack because its working mechanism is not fast enough to treat the symptom as and when it occurs. But one can use it regularly as course of therapy in order to reduce the frequency of asthma attacks and other symptoms such as inflammation. By reducing the rate of inflammation in throat and airway passage, this medicine facilitates easy breathing. It also has other secondary uses such as prevention of certain kinds of lung diseases and bronchitis.
