Flomax is the trade name of Tamsulosin and is an adrenergic receptor antagonist. Tamsulosin, developed by a reputed pharmaceutical company, was launched in 1996 and is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The drug has a biological half-life of about 9 to 13 hours. This medication belongs to a class of drugs called as alpha blockers.
