Product Description

Clomid is an ovulation stimulator. Its generic name is Clomiphene. It is a non-steroidal medication that is used for releasing hormones which induce ovulation. It is commonly used by women with PCOD (Polycystic ovary syndrome). It can also be used for other medical conditions.

How it works?

Clomid works by modifying certain hormones in the body. It triggers the pituitary gland to improve the growth of certain hormones that are needed to stimulate ovulation. When these hormones are produced, it enhances the growth of a mature egg. When this occurs, it eventually increases the chance of fertility in an individual.

When a woman takes Clomid, it treats her inability to fertilize.  The primary goal of this medication is to increase the possibility of achieving pregnancy.

Taking Clomid in a proper way would help a woman to conceive easily. However, this medication does not work for a woman who has ovarian or pituitary failure.

Common dose limit for ovulation induction is 50mg for five days. For lactation suppression, 100 mg Clomid for 5 days is usually recommended. If your doctor recommended dose limit is different than the generic one, stick to your prescription dose. Overdose can cause serious problems. In case of overdose, get emergency medical help. Do not perform any activity which requires 100% concentration and alertness, while using Clomid.

To get the most benefit from the medication, it is necessary to follow the prescription of your physician all the time. This medication should be taken by mouth with the appropriate dosage strength. Your suitable dose would be prescribed by a health care professional based on the physical health as well as your response towards the first pill.

Clomid should not be taken for a prolonged period of time that is the medication should not be taken more than 6 cycles.

It is important to take a pregnancy test before you start using Clomid as it may affect the unborn baby if consumed. The ovulation medication should not be consumed by women who have existing health conditions in the adrenal gland, liver, thyroid, ovary (other than PCOD) or pituitary gland. Lactating mothers should not use this medication as it slows milk secretion.

Checking whether you are allergic to the active ingredient in this medication before taking it would help you to avoid some ill effects.

Usage of Clomid would cause dizziness or blurriness hence it is very important not to drive during the course of therapy.

While you take the medication, you should simultaneously undergo several tests to ensure that the medication is not affecting you in a negative way.

Always take temperature test in frequent intervals to keep a track on ovulation.

Keep a health care professional informed about all the medications that you are currently taking including the prescription medication, over the counter medications as well as herbal supplements. This act would avoid you being affected by ill effects that might be caused due to drug interactions.

Tell to a doctor about the medical ailments that you are suffering from and also about serious conditions that you had in the past.
